About

JoltBox started as a group chat where four friends kept sending each other links to weird little games nobody was talking about. At some point we realised we were writing mini-reviews anyway, so we might as well put them somewhere people could find them. That's the whole origin story, nothing fancier than that.,We play everything on real phones, not emulators, and we finish what we start whenever the game lets us. A racing game gets driven, a strategy game gets a full campaign, a puzzler gets played until our thumbs hurt. Only then does anyone sit down to write.,Games get picked for coverage a few different ways: reader tips, store browsing, and a shared spreadsheet where someone dumps anything that looks promising. We lean toward independent and smaller teams because that's where the surprises live, but we'll cover a bigger title if it genuinely deserves it.,Nobody here is paid by developers. If we like something we say so, and if it's dull we say that too. The whole point is that you can trust the recommendation.
