Hollow Lantern

Hollow Lantern is a quiet, atmospheric adventure that trusts you to poke around. You tap to move through hand-painted rooms, pick up objects, and slowly piece together what happened to the town everyone left behind. There's almost no on-screen text telling you what to do, which we loved.

The puzzles are logical without being obtuse, and the game gives subtle visual hints rather than hand-holding. A couple of them had us stuck for a while, but the solution always felt fair in hindsight. The ambient sound of wind and distant waves stayed with us after we put the phone down.

This is a game to play with headphones in a quiet moment. It's short, maybe three hours, but it lingers. Easily one of our favourites this season.
